Gloristine Brown- House District 8

Gloristine grew up cropping the tobacco fields and worked as a nurse at Pitt Memorial Hospital. In 2014, she became the first Black mayor of Bethel. As Mayor, she brought together businesses and the community to revitalize her town. She helped open a state-of-the-art Youth Center, renovated the Senior Center, and lowered resident’s water and sewer bills by 23%.
