Rep. James Roberson is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 39 in Wake County since 2021. A dedicated public servant, Roberson previously served as the Mayor of Knightdale from 2015 to 2021 and as a member of the Knightdale Town Council from 2007 to 2015. His leadership in local government has been instrumental in fostering economic growth, expanding infrastructure, and improving public services for one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing communities.
In addition to his public service, Roberson has a strong background in education, spending over three decades at Wake Technical Community College. He retired in 2021 as the Senior Dean and Chief Campus Officer of the Western Wake Campus, where he worked to expand access to higher education and workforce development opportunities. In the legislature, Roberson continues his commitment to education, economic development, and policies that support working families, advocating for investments in public schools, affordable housing, and small business growth.
