Laura Budd- House District 103

Representative Laura Budd is a dedicated attorney, community leader, and advocate for education, healthcare, and economic opportunity in North Carolina’s 103rd House District. Representing parts of Mecklenburg County, she works to support working families, expand access to quality education, and promote policies that strengthen her community.

Representative Laura Budd has been serving North Carolina's 103rd House District since January 2023, representing parts of Mecklenburg County, including South Charlotte, Ballantyne, and Pineville. An accomplished attorney and community leader, she is dedicated to advancing policies that support and empower women across the state.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Rep. Budd earned her Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Ohio University in 1999, followed by a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest School of Law in 2002. Beyond her legal career, she has been actively involved in her community, serving as president of the Matthews Athletic Recreation Association and vice-president of the Piedmont Gymnastics Association. She is also a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar and the Matthews Chamber of Commerce. In her legislative role, Rep. Budd focuses on critical issues such as education, healthcare, the economy, and social justice, aiming to positively impact the lives of North Carolina residents.
