A Champion for Education, Safety, and Community
Mary Belk is serving to fight for the core values that shape a thriving North Carolina: strong public schools, safe neighborhoods, and healthy communities. As a dedicated public servant, she works tirelessly to ensure every family has access to the opportunities they need to succeed.
A Lifetime of Service and Leadership
Growing up as one of eight children, Mary learned early that hard work and personal responsibility are the keys to making a difference. Her firsthand experience with the struggle for equality during the early years of school integration inspired her lifelong commitment to public service. Whether it was working alongside her mother to elect strong leaders, helping to build her family business, or returning to college to earn her degree in political science with honors, Mary has always been driven by the desire to serve her community.
Delivering for Mecklenburg County
Mary’s dedication to public service spans decades, from serving on the Dilworth Community Development Association to advocating for education, food security, and refugee support programs. She is a hands-on leader who shows up, listens, and gets things done.
