Nasif Majeed- House District 99

Rep. Nasif Majeed is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, serving District 99 in Mecklenburg County since 2019. A decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, he flew over 120 combat missions as a B-52 pilot during the Vietnam War. Before his legislative tenure, Majeed served eight years on the Charlotte City Council and was the first African American to own and operate a Burger King franchise in Charlotte. He holds both bachelor's and master's degrees from North Carolina A&T State University.

After his military career, he became the first African American to own and operate a Burger King franchise in Charlotte, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to economic empowerment. A graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned both his bachelor's and master’s degrees, Majeed has been a strong advocate for HBCUs, veterans' rights, and economic policies that uplift working families. In the legislature, he continues to fight for equitable education funding, criminal justice reform, and expanding healthcare access across North Carolina.
